Description
Improve your kids’ handwriting without leaving the classroom.
Here’s what I know to be true:
- Teachers receive little training in handwriting instruction during their undergrad training.
- Your curriculum is overstuffed. Handwriting is often the thing the squashable thing. There isn’t always time for handwriting instruction.
- You have 20-something kids in class. Many have terrible handwriting. Most won’t be able to see an OT. If only you could just execute it all in the classroom, the place where they’re writing the most?
I wish I had been the one who taught your handwriting class in college. I would have bundled 35 years of experience into a clear, concise plan for setting your children up for handwriting success. But, don’t worry, you haven’t missed out. The Handwriting in the Classroom Course does just that. All the whats. But more importantly, the hows. This is your springboard to handwriting success in your classrooms.
Introducing Handwriting in the Classroom.
Your step-by-step guide to going from handwriting mess to handwriting success in your classroom.
By following this approach, you’ll see improvements within one year.
This is the approach I’ve refined over 35+ years working with children’s handwriting.
- If you want to feel confident that what you are doing to improve handwriting will truly make a difference…
- If you want your kids to be empowered to express themselves with legible handwriting…
- If you want to see an improvement within a year…
That’s exactly what Handwriting in the Classroom was designed to do.
I’m a paediatric OT who has spent her career supporting kids with handwriting challenges. I have trained literally thousands of teachers to help their kids learn to write. I have helped hundreds of kids transform their writing from handwriting mess to handwriting success.
I know when a funky pencil grasp needs to be changed and when to leave it alone, I know how to get your kids to space and lay out their work well, and I know how to help kids whose pencil control is just not up to the task.
I will share my tried-and-tested secrets for turning this sinking ship around.
So if you’ve committed to helping your kids to transform their writing, I’m here to guide you step-by-step.
I loved the cues Bunty explained to assist children who have challenges, as well as the practical guides and solutions. Packaged in a clear and accessible format, each section gives valuable nuggets by unpacking the intricacies of handwriting.

Newsflash: Kids’ handwriting is hurtling down the slippery slope, leaving them vulnerable to underperforming, simply because they are unable to document their knowledge in a legible and timely manner.
The good news is that with the right approaches and strategies in your classroom, you can turn this around. Your kids don’t need to struggle with handwriting or dumb down what they want to say simply because handwriting mechanics are difficult.
Handwriting in the Classroom is your springboard to implementing strategies that truly work.

You are absolutely AMAZING!!!! I love the course and wanted to progress through the sections, but like that they are short segments. I’m so glad you addressed the lefties with spacing. I immediately had concerns with the finger space as I now have 2 lefties. You should be very proud. I felt you were engaging and informative.

FAQs
There are so many kids in my classroom who have funky pencil grasps, and I never know when I should get them to try to change it. Will the course help me to be sure this?
Yes, we do talk about pencil grasp and how to identify which grasps are in and which are out.
I catch my breath when I open my kids’ books to mark them. The pages are a mess with writing all over the page, letters are the wrong size, and they can’t sit on the lines. Are you for real when you say this course will help me to help them?
Yes. I am. The course walks you step-by-step through how to approach teaching handwriting so you can get the most out of your handwriting lessons, so your kids will become legible writers. There will always be kids who truly need OT handwriting support, but by applying the correct principles in the classroom, you won’t have whole classrooms of children needing it.
We’ve had a big debate in our school about whether we should teach cursive handwriting, and we just can’t seem to arrive at a consensus. Do you cover this in the course?
Yes! Once you have done the course, you will be clear about the benefits of cursive handwriting and when you should and should not include it in your curriculum.
